Out of work

by Susanne Smith » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:16 pm

This might be a little off the foodie subject, but it is really amazing how few responses I get for job applications I post on the jobs forum. Amazing how few people bother to respond or fail to show up for interviews. We offer 12 to 15 per hour including tips, and yet it seems there is no umemployment problem here in louisville. We work our asses off and maybe thats the problem, our maybe everyone is waiting for Top Chef to call, I just don't get it. Thanks for letting me vent a little. I have two people out on vacation, one of whom might not return, we just got top ten burger in Louiville Mag and a full page of recipies in the the unamed Gannet publication. We have been overwhelmed with new customers while aready being one of the busiest cafe in the city. I need extra help. Any takers? Check out the jobs forum and come by for a look see.
Thank You,

I haven't ever gotten much response from the Jobs forum either, but I've gotten oodles of responses for postings on Craigslist. It can be a bit of a mixed bag of applicants, but there are usually a few gems among the applicants. My last several hires have been from people who applied after seeing the posting on Craiglist. The last time I posted an opening was a couple of weeks ago and within thirty minutes of it going online I had two applicants come into the cafe and apply in person.

Actually we were in discussion about this today, Craigslist has been very good to us when it comes to narrowing down what you are looking for and location.

Have had several major hits on the site
