I got this email yesterday! I was very excited! Just wanted to make sure everyone reads the fine print before purchasing!! Like, alcohol isn't usually included and there is usually a min. purchase amount (like the $100 Oakroom GC...on sale for $4!...requires a $200 purchase, without alcohol). Great deals, though!!

We've never been to the Oakroom but I did purchase one of their $100 certificates ($4)...based on Robins review it doesn't sound like it would be too difficult to run up a $200 tab, even without alcohol. Also purchased certificates for Thai Orchid and Furlongs (both of which we have really enjoyed in the past) as well as certificates for Beef O' Brady's and Turkey Joe's (for when Stevie gets a jones for some wings).

When you pay for the certificates you get an online link to immediately print your certificates. You also get a confirmation e-mail that again provides the links to print them. I don't believe they ever mail out certificates.

Is there a general restaurant.com certificate that can be used anywhere or can you only purchase one for the specific restaurants listed on the website? I'm asking because I remember redeeming them when I was serving at a few different restaurants and those restaurants aren't listed on the site. Also, I'm sure that I'm remembering restaurant.com and not Louisville Originals giftcards.

Caveat Emptor... No where on the Oakroom page does it say that the GC requires a $200 purchase, only two entrees.... Its not until you print it out that it says the minimum is $200. I mean, it was only $4.00, so I shouldn't complain, but its a bit misleading...

Wow, I just bought over $550 worth of certificates for $22...very nice for a couple of lowly EMTs, for which like most public service occupations, we do it more to help others than for the money. While we are used to budgeting ourselves closely, this certainly has revamped our entertainment plans for the next few months! Thank you SO much for posting this Annemarie!!! (and I can now tell my boyfriend there are no excuses for places like Winston's and the Oakroom since I bought certificates to them also  )

Annemarie,

We used our first certificate at Furlongs last night...saved ourselves $25 off of what would have been a $60 tab. This is a GREAT deal and I hope a lot of folks got in on it.

Anthony,

I had the same issue on a previous purchase, but it turned out to be operator error, not Restaurant.com. The redemption details are typically shown on the restuarant.com site on the far right hand side under the choice of certificate amounts. If you select different certificate amounts via the radio buttons, the requirements for redemption change- but I didn't notice that. The same thing might have happened to you; you might feel better if you go back to the site and check it.

Enjoy the Oakroom!

Actually, the restaurant.com site clearly says a $200 purchase is required to use a $100 certificate. When you click on the radio button beside the amount of the cert you want to purchase, the verbiage in that box changes to reflect the specifics for the cert you're ordering.

We loaded up, and also called my parents, who loaded up, as well.
