Good for you Annemarie. You made your displeasure known and gave the staff a chance to make it right.

Their fries and shakes are sinfully good = chain or no chain.

Ann Marie,
Which location? I find that Steak and Shake is pretty good brand. They have a quality product at a fair price and the service, while at times spotty, is usually pretty good.

One in Clarksville used to be awful for: (1) slow service (2) inaccurate orders & (3) unbussed tables even when there are three tables in the whole place. Different now, we have returned it to the fold occasionally and no longer rule it out.

I've enjoyed Steak n' Shake since I was a kid, and visit the Westport Rd location on occasion....the first time was several years ago and we sat at our table for (literally) about 20 minutes w/o any contact or even acknowledgement from the wait staff....and we walked out...perhaps it was just a fluke, but I'm always a little jaded toward a restaurant by those experiences....

Back in Western Kentucky, it was one of the few places that was always open really late. My girlfriend and I would often stop by for shakes after a late movie, and I've always been happy with both the service and food.

In my opinion, its also the best place to go after a showing of Rocky at Baxter. In my experience, the cast and a good portion of the audience often end up there after the show, and its a wonderful time.

Steak and Shake is one of my faves!!!! If you're into coupons then always look in the Sunday paper. They almost always have S&S coupons in there. The best one in my opinion is the Steak and Shake meal for $5.99. You get a Double Steakburger, choice of two sides and choice of Shake. That's a lot of food for six bucks and its like a $3.00 off coupon!

The Frisco Melt is awesome. IMO the best burger at a chain restaurant. Their regular cheeseburgers are very good as well.

Paul,

Rocky as in "Rocky Horror"? We've been thinking it would be fun for our 16 year daughter to experience it in a theatre, but I didn't know anyone in town did it....

Baxter Avenue Theaters usually has a showing once a month at Midnight. Check with them on the next available showing...I believe their next one is Sept 26th.

Deb- If you are interested in a live production Pandora is presenting Rocky from 9/24- 10/7 at The Henry Clay. Of course this won't be audience participation like a midnight showing would surely be.

Gary,

Thanks. Do you think the live production at Pandora will be "Teen girl appropriate"? The movie is pretty racy - we were trying to remember if it would be totally appropriate- but I could se a live show making it even more so. Any thoughts?- you know I trust your assessment.
