A.J.'s Gyros To Go..... closed?

by Becky M » Sun Aug 30, 2009 8:16 pm

Does anyone know if they are closed for the season? We had been looking forward to going there all week, drove out there after church today and it was closed. I don't know if i misunderstood Alison. She said that they were open everyday until the end of September. But does everyday exclude Sundays in "restaurant speak"? That is an honest, non-sarcastic question.....

We drove by Polly's because we REALLY wanted something, but it was SUPER packed..... ended up going to Mom and Pop's our family traditional favorite..... we just really wanted to try something different.....

Becy, Sincere sincere apologies. It was my birthday and my husband, Joe couldn't find anyone to cover for him on Sunday. So, we had to close, as we do most of our business in the evening, it didn't seem worth it opening just for the day time. So, sorry, you made a special trip out. I actually thought of you on Sunday afternoon, and hoped that you weren't thinking of going there that day. We went out for dinner with the boys and then to the movies. We are definitely open until the end of Sept and yes, that includes Sundays.

Alison, no problem i understand. We are just glad that everything is ok. As we were driving away, my husband and i were discussing how you never know with a local restaurant because if something happens they close if needed. We just hoped everything was okay and not closed for a serious emergency. The drive out there was nice anyway. Sunday was beautiful and the babies were napping, so it was a great Sunday afternoon.

Hope you had a GREAT birthday with your family, Happy Belated Birthday!

Any place that has to close for some reason would be smart to put a sign on the door. Use any excuse you want .. but it lets people know you are not permanently closed.

Steve, there should have been a sign on the door. We had one of our employees go and put it on.

Though i think Steve was a little harsh......but, Alison, there was not a sign on the door. We drove around the building a couple of times for that very reason.....

Well, I have just got here to Georgetown, and there are three signs inside by the windows saying "Family stuff, Highlander Point still open. Joe says they were outside on the window, drive thru and side door when he got here on Mon morning. I guess you must have got there before he put them up, he is not the quickest of employees, bless.

Alison, i believe you, no biggie. We probably did go before they were put up. We went after our grocery shopping after church, so it was still early.......no problem. We are going to try to head out there with the kids this weekend sometime....

Steve, It's alright, I didn't think you were harsh... abrupt ... yes, but then I am the queen of abruptness, apparently lol
