What Apps Do You Use?

by RichardM » Sat Aug 22, 2009 8:42 pm

I know there are several users on here who have an iPhone. I do. Besides causing me to have these strong urges to go to the Apple Store and look at Apple Laptops, I have found it to be a great phone and personal computer. Part of that is the applications you can get and use, in particular, foodie apps.

I have Urbanspoon; Yelp; OpenTable; YPmobile; BigOven; Epicurious; Google and AllRecipes, in the real foodie category. I could have sworn I had an app for tip calculating but apparently I deleted it. I will have to fix that, altho I have always found 10% of total, times 2 can be done in the head rather quickly. So,unless I am dividing the tip 7 ways it is generally not a problem.

What apps do you have for your iPhone, Blackberry, PalmPre, or other smartphone - and what phone do you use?

PCMag has an article with top ten foodie apps:

I am surprised that the large national chains have not gone the app route, with menus, and ability to do reservations and such. Maybe that is just to forward.
