The roster of musical performers includes Brendan Loughrey (the headliner, from County Donegal), Men of Thunda, The Derby Boys, Cloigheann, Keltricity, Guilderoy Byrne and Liam’s Fancy.
NABC will put its new three-way catering permit between the white lines and assume responsibility as the sole purveyor of alcohol at the festival. Thus, a Lite-Free Zone is blessedly assured. My guess is that we’ll start serving at 3:00 p.m. and give last call around 9:30 p.m. Look for the fire engine red tap truck in the beer garden area.
Our purpose-brewed Celtic Red” Ale, informally dubbed Haggis Laddie for the occasion, will be on tap along with four other NABC beers – Kaiser (pre-Prohibition Pilsner), Bob's Old 15-B (Porter), Strathpeffer (Scottish-style honey and heather ale) and Elector ("imperial" red of sorts). We'll have local wine, but no liquor this first time out.
Food will be catered by the O’Shea’s/Brendan’s pubs from Louisville, along with Bluegrass Kitchen and a hot dog stand run by the organizing committee.
There'll be a "private" after party for the musicians and organizers at the Bank Street Brewhouse, beginning around 11:00 p.m. and ending (?), but in reality anyone can come join the fun.
I just looked at the weather map, and it shold be cool and cloudy, which makes it even more like Ireland. Come over and check out downtown New Albany.
