We stayed (and ATE) at The Castle Post in Lexington!

That's my review on Trip Advisor. Here are our pictures:

All I can say is WOW! Yes, it's expensive. Rooms start in the $300 range. However, included in the price is a custom prepared dinner with wine. They called ahead and had us order from the menu online. It was lovely! That chef must be quite an investment for them. I strongly urge all men looking to earn some brownie points to take your woman here for a night. I am so glad they finished this project and I hope it's a huge success. There's really nothing quite like it in KY!

Thanks, Linda. I've been VERY curious about the Castle Post since it opened, and your review answered some questions for me.

Did you get a feeling for whether they're staying pretty booked/busy?

Also, without knowing this for sure, I think their prices may drop some around the holidays or in the winter. I just looked, and the cheapest room is $375/night (including meals, of course), but I can swear that I checked it out around Christmas (we were considering a night there for my in-laws as a gift), and it was more like $200 or $250/night, including food.

Either way, nice to hear about someone staying there.

They were booked solid on Friday night. The night we were there, there were 5 couples. They plan on being closed Mondays and Tuesdays and are hosting special dinners and events, supposedly. If you love sports (tennis, basketball, swimming) it's s super way to spend a day and evening. It also has a hot tub.

They said they are booking well; I know they must have spent a fortune on the project. It is really lovely and a night would be a GREAT gift for a wedding or anniversary present.

That is so cool. I lived in Lexington from 92-98 when it was just a shell and never had the chance to see it come to fruition. I love it.

Haven't been to Lexington in years. Is this the old castle right near the road that sat empty for years that at one time "the six million dollar man" (can't remember his name) and then the state owned?
Looks beautiful.
