Private Rooms @ Porcinis

by RichardM » Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:43 pm

By now almost everyone has seen or heard the story about Rick Pitino and Karen Sypher.

http://www.courier-journal.com/article/ ... /908110350

How will it affect the restaurant or will it? Negatively? Positively?

All I can say is, RUT RHO.

What, the CJ is not yet allowing comments on this article? It seems to me to be the perfect storm for commenting stupidity! I was looking for some cheap Tuesday entertainment...

Wow. That is one exciting, breathtaking plot. I, for one, cannot wait for the movie. Who's gonna play T-Will?

i have to say that what really bothers me is the fact that youths all over our state watch pitino every season and look up to him and his success. he is a prominent public figure in our community and this is the example he sets for our young men and boys? sypher is no better. how embarassing for everyone involved. what a shame.

I recall thinking when this Pitino story first broke a month or so ago that anyone who didn't think "where there's smoke there's fire" was living in a dream world...Chalk one up to instinct and old age. As for Porcini, ahhhhhhh I'm going to fall off on the side of the fence that it's certainly not going to have a positive effect on there business. At the very least (right ,wrong or indifferent) I can assure you that the notority has affected my desire to go there.

I don't know if it will hurt Porcini's business or help; it's now a tourist attraction ... as sick as that may be.

Sort of like Umberto's Clam House in Little Italy in NYC, which has drawn tourists for years because of a famous mob "hit" there? ("Joey Gallo, face down in his scungilli".)

They must make some good strong drinks there at least. I don't know if it will hurt their business but the thought of those two together can definitely kill your appetite.

How about Will Smith...He already has the experience portraying another Louisville Legend, Ali...Of course, to truly nail that T-Will look...Will Smith is gonna have to endure 4+ hours of temporary tattoos...

Perhaps Porcinis can hang up a sign ala Katz's Deli in New York City...That place stays packed...

On a serious note...You gotta feel for the University of Louisville President James Ramsey right now...First, the flash floods, and now this...
