Which bars host which NFL fans ?

by Wes P » Fri Jul 31, 2009 4:33 pm

Robin, I apologize if this is not the right forum for this. Please move it if necessary.

With the Nfl season just around the corner, which bars/restaurants are the "home of" Nfl teams.

Gerstiles-Vikings
R Place-Steelers
Dutch's-Packers

Who else hosts a team?

I'd love someplace that hosted NY Giants fans. I would imagine there are several NY/NJ people in the area who are Giants fans.

I have been wondering about this as well. Where's the Chicago Bears bar?

It's fine here, Wes. Bars fit into the broad definition of restaurants for the purposes of this forum. Heck, a bar IS a restaurant, even if the bill of fare is limited to beef jerky and pickled eggs. ;)

I'm a Giants fan and lived here my whole life, no Giants bar but I frequent BW3's on Bardstown during football season. There's usually a handful of us there for big games.

I believe Monkey Wrench bills itself as a Cowboys home bar.

I'm pretty sure that the Redskins fans convene at Wick's on Baxter.

Nope, they host the Bengal's fans! I think Brendan's is a Colt's bar....
There was an article about this in LEO a few years back and I can't remember everywhere that was mentioned :(

The Derby City Browns Backers meet at:

Benchwarmers Pizza & Subs
7425 St. Andrews Church Road

...Or any Browns fans can just come on over to the house. We've had the "NFL Sunday Ticket" for years and love it. Haven't missed a Browns game in a long long time.

Speaking of the NFL Sunday ticket, Beef O'Brady's in La Grange has the Sunday Ticket and shows most games. The manager told me folks are lined up at the door when they open on Sunday in order to claim a seat and a TV. So get there early if ya go.

BTW...If anyone is interested in joining the Del Frisco's Fantasy Football League you can contact me. This year marks our 10th season! Our league is VERY competitive and a lot of fun with several food-service types. We are always looking for any new victims..er, um owners to round out the league!
It may be a little pricey for some. Entry fees are $135.00 up front for the season with $1.00 transaction fees, We pay out weekly, division, first and runner-up prizes. It is usually very lucrative if you are a football fan that can draft well and keep up with the goings on during the season.....Draft day is scheduled on the 30th of August at Buffalo Wild Wings in J-town at 1:00PM. There will be door prizes. Let me know if you are interested. We only have two spots left.

Being all transplants from Tampa, we are all huge Buc's fans here at Selena's. You can count on one of our 4 Flat screens in the tavern side to be on the Tampa game, the other 3 as well as 2 in dining rooms are available for whichever game is requested first (lots of requests for Saints last year, something about Gumbo and Dixie Beer pairings). We do have the NFL Suday Ticket and all games will be available. We are working on our gameday specials menu now for the NFL that I know will include buckets of 5 domestic beers starting at $10 as well as 1/2 price bottles of all wines on Sunday. Saturday college gamedays will see more specials tied to our Seafood boil starting with Blue Crabs, switching to Stone Crabs with season opening mid October. I would love to hear from any buccaneer fans in the area.

GO BUCS!!!!!

Adam, thanks for the info about the Giants.

There's a place for Bengal's fans? I didn't realize the Bengals had fans!

I've never been, but I believe BBC is the Bears headquarters. If the Earth ever imploded and I had to give up Sunday ticket, I'd be there...especially with Dutch's (Packers) and Gerstles (Viqueens) being within a few paces.

Da Bears....

(yeah, grew up in Chicago. I even sold Hot Chocolate and Coca-cola at Soldier's Field when I was a kid)

Makes me want to show games at Ray's but it'd mess up the ambiance......hmmmmmmm......(we do have beer afterall)
