Nice lunch at Brownings

by Leah S » Tue May 22, 2007 7:50 am

Had lunch with a bunch of other friends last week at Brownings. For a brewpub I 'm thinking the atmosphere was nice, it's just that I generally don't go to brewpubs. Anyway, the food was most excellent. There were several orders of the Browning version of a hot Brown around our table and although they looked a bit unusual, they were devoured by those ordering them. I had the tuna salad which was served with hard boiled egg slices, fresh fruit, mmm good salty black olives, crackers and toasted baguette slices. The tuna salad itself was white albacore and really good.

A couple other people at the table got the sliders, which are five small hamburgers arrayed open faced around the plate. Makes for a pretty and full plate. Others at the table had the chicken wrap and pronounced it very, very good. All in all a pleasant and filling lunch.

I'll absolutely go back!

I agree Leah. We are at Brownings after all the Bat's games. The food took a noticeable leap forward when Chef Shariat arrived a couple of years ago. He shares your vegetarian lifestyle, so it's not surprising his dishes are appealing. Based on my experience, he pleases the omnivores among us, too.

Browning's.

Leah, I posted this on the old board a while back. I still stand by what I wrote then and your experience further confirms it's a great place to dine.

I frequent the place a lot. Sometimes individually, other times with friends, then on rare occasions with a group of people who help raise money for cancer patients. I've eaten/drank (beer) at the bar, in the general dining area and in the private rooms. I have always had great food, beverages and service. On many occasion I have even seen Chef Anoosh checking out what is going on at Browning’s. One time last fall he even came up to me at a private function to inquire about the service and the cuisine. I was quite impressed by this and shall keep returning to Browning’s so long as this type of service and concern is exhibited by the staff and the CHEF himself.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Anoosh at Browning's

by Vince Yustas » Wed May 23, 2007 8:09 am

Brownig's is one of our favorites -- for both the quality and uniqueness of the food -- and no wonder: Anoosh. It wasn't until I read this thread that I put two and two together. I had seen Anoosh checking with diners at Park Place but had never thought of his involvement in Browning's -- I'm having too many senior moments lately!
