Shack in the Back BBQ in Fairdale

by Gary Guss » Thu Jul 30, 2009 6:42 pm

Just got back from another great brisket meal. Nice people, great food in an old log cabin. Takes 30 hours to make the brisket. If you are over that way, stop in there. They also have home made bread and butter type pickles with jalepenos and about 4 sauces you can put on served at the table. They are closed Sunday and Mondays. They have brisket, chopped pork, ribs, and smoked turkey. All of their sides are made there as well. At Fairdale Rd. and Mitchell Hill Rd.

I think its a vinegar slaw but I usually have the baked beans.. try the pickles, they usually give you some, but once in awhile you have to ask.

I had a couple of meetings at Sysco in Fairdale last week and decided to search out this spot. I had the Shack special pork sandwich the first day with beans and potato salad. Unbelievable. I went back the next day and had a 1/2 rack with same sides and on a tip had the pickles. Rediculous. I will be eating there often going forward and I recommend this place to all BBQ lovers. And foodies too!
