What's for lunch (St. Matthews/Springhurst area)?

by Chris Lindy » Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:59 am

Anyone want to tell me where to go eat lunch today? I'd like a couple recommendations that aren't Shiraz (love it, just not the food mood for me today) or the chains. Thanks in advance!

Turkey Joe's, Corner Cafe, Boombozz - just a few KRA members to choose from!

In Springhurst go to Liang's Bistro - next to Dave's Sportin Goods - cheap lunches, great food - order from main menu (not lunch options) for more unusual variety

St. Matthews or Springhurst? Those are quite a distance apart to me. In St. Matthews, try Meridian Cafe, Havana Rumba, Cafe Lou Lou, Stan's Fish Sandwich, the Fishery, Carolina Seafood, Oriental House, Kayrouz Cafe, Bluegrass Brewing Co. (wait, I'm not positive if they're open for lunch) ... even go to Lotsa Pasta, order a sandwich from the deli and eat it in their little dining area next door.

Springhurst was just featured in a very recent discussion, should still be on the first page of the forum. Tony Boombozz, Turkey Joes, Perla del Pacifico, Goose Creek Diner, Liang's Cafe, Karem's in Norton Commons, Liang's Chinese, even Corbett's An American Place has an awesome lunch.

Or head down to Westport Village and look around. A lot of it is chains, but Napa River Grill is there (again, check whether they're open for lunch); also Jade Palace.

Thanks, Annemarie! I thought so, but didn't want to send them there on a guess. :)

Good one! Original Wild Eggs in St. Matthews (Dupont Circle) also, now that we mention it.
