The Cutting Board - Closed??

by Doug W » Mon May 21, 2007 1:50 pm

I hope this is wrong, but I heard today that The Cutting Board was closed.

I tried calling the phone number on their website (423-9950) and it was "no longer in service". I was just in there - I'd hate to see them close.

Anyone else hear about this? Again, I hope I am wrong but I heard this today at another restaurant.

Regards,

Doug.

It's correct. There was a thread here last week about it.

Sorry - missed the thread

My bad - I haven't had a chance to check in very much lately.

I apologize for bringing up bad news again...

Rats; I really liked that place.

It certainly didn't bother me that you brought it up again, other than I really liked the folks that ran it, too.

Fortunately, this is not one of those boards where someone jumps down your throat if you *do* bring up a previous topic - we're all nice folks here!

I noticed a small 'zoning change' notice in front of the building. I was driving so I couldn't read the small print. Wonder what will be there next.

Apparently still under way, and maybe gathering steam. I have an odd but reliable source: The guy who did a drywall project in our house last week had to start late because they were finishing up a rush job for Spinelli's on Goose Creek. 8)

Are they really closed?

by kati.b » Wed May 30, 2007 5:21 pm

So I was reading the Northeast Neighborhood section of the CJ today and there is an article about the White Castle that is moving a few doors down on Westport and Hurtsbourne. In the same article it says: "In another change, Wick's Pizza and The Cutting Board restaurants each plan to build patios for outdoor food and alcohol service"

Here's the link: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbc ... /-1/ZONE04

Any ideas?

I'd say the CJ messed up ... probably the reporter saw the permit on a list and had no clue that the restaurant is closed.

Thanks for the info, Rob ... it's certainly possible that it could come back with the same name and even the same management. The phone was disconnected, though, which seems kind of final ...
