Coffee "guinea pigs" needed

by David Lange » Mon Jul 27, 2009 8:43 am

I am offering a special perk (sorry for the pun) for the forumites who might have a passion for coffee. Consumers Choice Coffee has been roasting small batch coffees for about a year now and are about to release a new set of coffees. I know that the coffees are good, but I would value the taste buds of the coffee tasters, here at the forum. Here are the coffees I'd like some input on;

100% Organic Swiss Water Process Decaf Inca Blend -
A dark roasted blend of organic coffees from Central and
South America. This coffee has a smooth pleasingly sweet,
fruity, and a hint of chocolate taste. The acidity is low-toned
and balanced, and the mouthfeel roundly smooth. The finish
is extremely clean without all the caffeine.

H. C. Valentine 100% Organic Signature Espresso -
This is a complex blend of 100% Organic coffees that swirls in your mouth. This espresso offers a gently bright aroma with a sweet chocolate and caramel flavor. A perfect straight shot and holds up nicely in milk.

Guatemala Antigua – San Rafael Urias -
An estate coffee that is hand selected and sorted in the high altitude of Guatemala. The San Rafael Urias is located in the volcanic soil of the highland valley of Antigua. The farm was founded over 100 years ago by Rafael Valdez Quiroa. Today the farm is run by third generation Valdez family. The estate coffee from the Antigua region produces some very distinctive coffee. This coffee has an acidity that is gently bright with a spicy, floral, and a hint of chocolate taste.

All of these coffees are roasted in a 20 lb. roaster and roasted under very strict guidlines. The decaf and espresso are organic and the Guatemalan is a single origin estate coffee.

To be perfectly fair about this, I'll ask you to PM me starting at 8 A.M. tomorrow morning and give me your preference. I'll send out a 4oz. sampling of whole bean coffee to the first 4 requesters in each category. When it's gone, it's gone. All I ask is that you let me know how the coffee tastes and does it live up to your expectations. In other words, give me some feedback. I'll be doing this again next month when our next new lines come out.

It's my way of giving something back to the great forumites that are here.

Enjoy

P.S. Any PM's marked before 8 a.m. tomorrow will be deleted, so play fair.

I'll jump on board for the San Rafael Urias. Where do I pick it up?

Wow!!! I never thought that I would get hit with so many PM's already, but to be FAIR, I have to delete the ones I received today. Remember after 8 a.m. TOMORROW!! And I'll contact you for an address to send the coffee to. Thanks for all of the enthusiasm, but it is not until tomorrow. It'll be worth the wait.

David .. I think your offer got people so excited that they stopped reading and started responding.

Just to be clear: If we don't want to be a coffee guinea pig, what do we do?

Carolyn-

Believe it or not only 2 willing souls PM'ed me this morning, so there is still a lot of orphan coffee out there looking for a home. If you still want to be part of the taste test, just PM me your preference and address and it will be on it's way tomorrow.
