First time at The Patron

by Gayle DeM » Fri Jul 24, 2009 11:28 pm

A dear friend treated me and another mutual friend to a birthweek lunch at The Patron today. Wow! Can't wait to go back. I had the special of the day, a field greens salad with crab cakes, without a doubt the BEST (yes, I am shouting) crab cakes ever! Chef Amber McCool is one cool chef-o. :D

It's been one of our favorites for quite some time. The value is fabulous.

I don't want to be pedantic, but in fairness to Chef Amber, who runs a great spot, the name of this place is The Patron.

Must have been an edit to the thread's title - but, to the point, Amber's place should be run over every night, but I just think it's off the mainstream radar screen, which is too bad. It's just wonderful.
