The Fish House/Café Beignet to host “mason Mondays”
In Honor of Longtime Louisville Philanthropist Mason Rudd, Proceeds from “The Mason” Special Will Be Donated to the Jewish Hospital Foundation
The owners of The Fish House/Café Beignet, David and Adam Hilsenrad, are honoring longtime restaurant regular, Mason Rudd, with “Mason Mondays” featuring Rudd’s favorite sandwich, the fresh cod fish sandwich served on Jewish Rye. Proceeds from the purchase of “The Mason” on Mason Mondays will be donated to the Jewish Hospital Foundation in remembrance of Rudd.
“We are honored to remember a great friend of ours and great citizen who was so generous to the Louisville community during his lifetime,” said Adam Hilsenrad, co-owner of The Fish House/Café Beignet. Mason Rudd passed away earlier this month after a lifetime of service to Louisville in which he donated millions of dollars and countless hours to improving the city’s public health system. Rudd served for 33 years as chairman of the former Jefferson County Board of Health and was a major contributor to Jewish Hospital where the Rudd heart and Lung Center bears his name.
A regular at the Original Highlands neighborhood restaurant, Rudd was a favorite customer of The Fish House/Café Beignet. “The Mason” special will be available on Mondays through August 31st for $7.95 and will be served with potato latkes. The Fish House/Café Beignet is located at the corner of Barret and Winter Avenues in the Highlands, 568-2993.
