Snow clouds ???

by Alan H » Sat Jul 18, 2009 2:22 pm

I am all about the weather, but for us in the part time " alfresco " business it looks like it is going to snow out there !!
I cannot ever recall seeing sweaters and jackets on the river in July, hell maybe Al Gore is right

I wish Al Gore would hurry up and get his global warming thing working! Looks like we're having global cooling instead of global warming.

WIMPS!!! <grin!> Growning up we spent summers at a camp in Ohio, there was some wild, weird weather there and I remember wearing sweatshirts and jeans in July. This has brought back some memories......Enjoy while it lasts, I'm sure we will be melting soon! :D

we are supposed to go to nolin lake this week. when we go, we spend pretty much all the daylight hours floating around in the water and lying on the boat in the sun. it had better start feeling like a kentucky july around here! i want 90+ degrees. i want swimming weather. i need it :(

This is my 6th year in Louisville (23rd in Kentucky), and I still have no idea what a "Kentucky July" feels like (Especially in Louisville!)

I've seen snow in April and 70-80 degree weather in December. We have horrific snow and ice storms, veritable monsoons, and scorching droughts that suck the moisture out of your skin.

In short, Louisville weather is weird. (Kind of like the city. )

Louisville - the only place I have lived that you can wear shorts and shovel snow in the same week. As I was told by a native years ago, if you don't like the weather here, wait a minute. :D

I grew up mostly in Chicago, where the snow drifts could be above your head (I was a kid). Made lots of money shoveling snow, but the negative twenty degrees Fahrenheit days really sucked. I was sure I had frostbite a few times.

Louisville is very mild in comparison. I've only been snowed in once (three years ago? Christmas?). I was living in New Albany, and literally couldn't move my car for two or three days. And I lived 2 miles from the nearest store. Glad I had provisions (though neighbors would have helped, and a few had four wheel drives).

What I hate more than anything here is the ice storms. And coming in to work to find your 25 foot awning on the sidewalk, totally destroyed. Not a good way to start the day.

As for the cool weather, for those of us who have to pay LGE bills for their businesses, I'm thankful that my AC's can rest for a few days. Whew....Enjoy the cool while you can, it'll be upper 80's again this week!

Cheers...

That pretty much describes the first 25 years of my life on days off, maybe that is why I turned out this way
