I grew up mostly in Chicago, where the snow drifts could be above your head (I was a kid). Made lots of money shoveling snow, but the negative twenty degrees Fahrenheit days really sucked. I was sure I had frostbite a few times.
Louisville is very mild in comparison. I've only been snowed in once (three years ago? Christmas?). I was living in New Albany, and literally couldn't move my car for two or three days. And I lived 2 miles from the nearest store. Glad I had provisions (though neighbors would have helped, and a few had four wheel drives).
What I hate more than anything here is the ice storms. And coming in to work to find your 25 foot awning on the sidewalk, totally destroyed. Not a good way to start the day.
As for the cool weather, for those of us who have to pay LGE bills for their businesses, I'm thankful that my AC's can rest for a few days. Whew....Enjoy the cool while you can, it'll be upper 80's again this week!
Cheers...
