To answer your questions:
I have taken the Oakroom's wine list, and shaded many items in gray, not changing their prices. When you flip through the book, you will see the prices are the same as they have been. I haven't marked anything down. I am just running a special of half price on many wines that I have an overstock of, or many wines that are at their peak and need to be drunk soon.
For example, a bottle of Alexander Valley Cyrus on the menu is $110. If it is shaded in gray, you pay $55 for that bottle. This is available in The Oakroom itself while dining, AND it's available out in the wine bar area. We do offer a menu in the Wine bar, and here is a link to view:
http://www.theoakroomsommelier.blogspot.com. I haven't uploaded it yet, but will in a few minutes. As far as a link to the wine list, I will work on that. If you would like for me to email it to you, I'd be glad to do so.
Many of you might be wondering why some of these wines are half price. To answer that question, we had a sprinkler system bust in one of our four cellars, raining down black water, ruining the labels. The wine inside is still good, but I can't very well sell those wines at full price with a label that looks damaged. All of our wines are kept at proper temperature and proper humidity, and if there is ever a bad bottle, I would never ask anyone to pay for it.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
