Classic Cincinnati beers are back

by Todd Antz » Thu Jul 16, 2009 4:34 pm

Several classic beers that were once brewed in Cincinnati are now back in production. Christian Moerlein, Burger Classic, and my old Cincinnati Reds favorite Hudepohl Delight (Anyone else remember $1 Hudy nights at Riverfront Stadium?) are being produced again. Initially somewhere in Wisconsin is brewing this , but plans are to move production back to Cincinnati in the next year.

Hudy Delight and Burger are officially the cheapest beers available in my store. The Christian Moerlein line is being pushed as a higher end beer, and is currently available in a sampler 12 pack with an assortment of 4 different beers.

Wow. Hudy returns to Cincy.

City Brewery in LaCrosse has been making several of the brands for a few years now I think, or maybe they were making them a few years ago?

I haven't seen mention of the other distinctive brand from Hude-Schoen.. Little Kings!!

Tiny green bottles. Almost like a beer shot. I'm having college flashbacks already. :D

Has the Christian Moerlein been returned to its original all-malt Dortmunder style goodness or is it the same swill it was the last time it was "reintroduced"?
