Went there last nite and it was a delite !!
It's at the corner of Oak and Logan, and it's got the feeling of a funky coffe-house: mis-matched chairs, tables, booths; bright colors; bookcases and scattered magazines; exposed brick walls.
We had the ribs basket (around $9--4 big rib tips, 2 sides, bread) and the gordita ($8 with 2 sides). We ate in, and the food was served on artsy glass plates with silverware (all the plastic stuff is for carry-out).
The ribs were moist and *very* tender, with a sweet homemade BBQ sauce; my sides were a nice red-potato salad and so-so refried beans. I asked for a fresh tortilla rather than cornbread, and it was *fantastic*--the chef himself brought it out, tender and warm !
The Gordita was huge--the masa was maybe 2" thick and deep-fried, then cut in 1/2, hollowed out and stuffed with ground beef, tomatoes and lettuce. The salsa was green with a little heat. My friend's side were greens (with black-eyed peas and a smoked meat) and refrieds.
They also have a Blue Bunny ice-cream case, so we ended with a scoop.
We even lingered after eating, trying to decide what to order the next time we came !
