Blue Lagoon

Anybody know anything about Blue Lagoon? Going in where Diamante's had been. And the Diamond Bar before that?

First time I've seen a name associated with the space, but here's the detail about what's happening at the old Diamante from a Zaytun post back in May. There is some association between Zaytun and this new operation. Don't know if Sharom's is involved since I thought they also had an interest in Zaytun.

Regardless, we love Zaytun and have high hopes for the new place.

I neglected to mention this in my above post because it was already so lengthy, but Remy (the owner) recently signed a lease for the old Diamante space a few doors down. His plans are to open a 2nd restaurant with a more upscale concept but to keep it plenty affordable. I believe he is even hiring a new chef for this one...

Painting and remodeling going on right now, tentatively scheduled to open late June- early July.

Sharom is involved in Zaytun. Sharom is the father and the son runs Zaytun. Blue Lagoon is another joint venture and will feature seafood.

My brother and I dined at Zaytun's on Friday (and then I dined at Sharom's the next day, so I should get a discount or something.) Remy told us that the new venture will open mid-August. I asked him if he was concerned about the economy. He said he's been happy with business at Zaytun and has confidence that as long as he offers a good product at a good price with good customer service the venture will be successful.

I can't remember the whole conversation word-for-word, but it was refreshing to see how he talked about the need to provide a quality product at a reasonable price. My brother and I each had a gyro and a soda, and we shared a side of fries. With an appropriate tip, or tab came out to 21 bucks. Worth every penny.

There's a another reason to like your local place. A friendly, on site owner who goes out of his way to show appreciation for your business. I don't think I have ever made a trip to Zaytun's in which Remy didn't come out from the kitchen, talk to me for a bit, and thank me for my business.

Did anybody notice it says BBC coming August 25th? I wonder what happened.

Never mind False alarm. I must have caught them between sign changes. It has new signs saying Blue Lagoon coming August 25th. BBC must have paid for the sign on the side of the building..
