A Seinfeld reservation moment ...

by TP Lowe » Sun Jul 12, 2009 4:39 pm

I recently called one of this board's (and mine) favorite Frankfort Avenue restaurants to make a reservation for a Friday night at 7PM. I had tried to make a rese on opentable.com, but was unable to find one on that night. So, called the restaurant to see what was going on and had no trouble making the reservation for four at 7PM. When we arrived - to may amazement - the restaurant was closed for a private function! I walked in and wondered why everyone had name tags on. Eventually one of the guests (couldn't find anyone from the restaurant) told me that it was closed for the private function. To the restaurant's credit, they did leave a voicemail on my cell phone saying they had messed up in letting me make a reservation. However, sometimes ATT (remember when we broke that thing up because it was a monopoly that didn't work well? - another post, perhaps) doesn't actually tell you that you have a voicemail waiting until the next day, which is exactly what happened.

Happy ending - The Patron accomodated us and we had a wonderful evening in Amber's talented hands. But it really did feel like a Seinfeld car reservation moment ...
