An odd request

by HollyR » Fri Jul 10, 2009 3:39 pm

For cheese. Yes, cheese, for a photo shoot.

Sister Cities of Louisville hosts its annual fundraiser October 5: "A Tasteful Affair" includes tastings of food & drink from the countries home to Louisville's international sister cities (France, Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Argentina, Russia, China and England).

The event's poster will feature blocks of cheese carved into the shapes of those countries...if they can get a donation of said cheeses. (It's a nonprofit budget. :D) They'd like to photograph the cheese next week, if possible. They're not picky about the types of cheeses (as long as it's a hard cheese that can be carved). The donor's logo would be included in the poster, etc.

If you're able to help, would you mind PMing me with your contact info? It's very much appreciated.

They are also looking for restaurants, etc. to provide food & drink at the event, or offer items for a silent auction. The turnout is usually about 500 people and the fundraiser provides much of their operating budget. It's definitely a foodie crowd!

If you'd like more details about the event, here's a link: http://www.sclou.org/index.php?id=160

Thanks very much for any help you can provide!

Holly, try calling John or Vicki Hale at Lotsa Pasta and see if they can help. I wish they were on the forum, but I've never seen either one here. However, they are generous people and have an excellent cheese selection and cheesemonger on staff.
