Great Lunch at Corbett's

by Karen H » Thu Jul 09, 2009 11:58 pm

It seems there have been a lot of people disappointed in their dining experiences lately....but not me last Wednesday. It has been a very busy week or I would have posted sooner.

My friend and I both have birthdays in July and to celebrate we pick a special restaurant to take ourselves to and this year we choose Corbett's. What a great choice!!!! Neither one of us had been there. We both ordered the 3 course price fix at lunch and were made to feel special from the first cheerful hello. Our server was very helpful with explanations of dishes and we never felt rushed to make up our minds. We both ordered the tomato & feta bruschetta it was perfect! I got the turkey club wrap with seasoned fries (I could only eat half, I had to save room for dessert, had the rest for lunch the next day) our server recommended it as her favorite and I agree. I had the banana bread pudding for dessert and I ate every bite! My friend got the sauteed shrimp and blackberry cobbler and I'll just say that she is not the easiest person to please and she says "We're coming back here!!!!"

We both adore old houses and we really wanted to explore the basement but there was a rope blocking access. With the high ceilings we were very surprised how quiet it was especially since the restaurant was about 3/4 full and we didn't realize it until we left.

Thanks everyone at Corbett's for a wonderful birthday lunch! :D

What does the lunch menu run at Corbett's? I'm always looking for new places to suggest to the co-workers, but don't want to drag them into an expensive lunchtime affair. Is it at all similar to what Limestone is doing?

Chris,
They have just updated their lunch menu online. Here is the link http://www.corbettsrestaurant.com/conte ... &Itemid=56
Just an FYI: on the menu at the restaurant there are some of the listings that are not part of the price fix but this is not noted on the online menu. There is also a lounge and patio menu that are good prices also.

I haven't been to Limestone, but just had someone suggest it to me the other day. That may be my next new place to go.

You will have to try Corbett's for yourself also! I will definately be back! :D

Just back from lunch at Corbett's with a group from work celebrating a promotion for one of my co-workers.
Everything was excellent. The pre-fix lunch has to be the biggest bargain for a really nice lunch in the city! I had the calamari app, an old fave of mine from my days at Equus, can't get enough of the stuff! The lingini with shrimp, spinach, pine nuts and feta. I knew immediately when I bit into the shrimp that they were Hawaiian Blue Prawns...No frozen white or tiger shrimp tastes that good. And then the chocolate mousse for dessert. Service was suberb, the atmoshpere terrific and everyone in my group was very, very impressed. If you are in the neighborhood you would be remiss to not eat lunch there on occasion. Heck, I could easily spend $15 to $20 bucks at Red Robin for lunch and have nothing near as fine as Corbett's!
