Whe we sent out our NABC newwsletter last week, here's what I received in response:

Don't expect a reply any time soon... For two reasons:

1) I'm going to be out of town from 7-1-2009 until 7-7-2009. I will have limited access to email during this time.

2) As you know, we're opening our Louisville Location in mid July.

Two very busy times too close together, sorry again.

Warm regards and thanks for your understanding.

Add these various communiques together, and consider the endearing eccentricity of the establishment, and it adds up to "the fog of beer."

Sorry for the confusion with the dates everyone, I was working off what the Potable Curmudgeon had listed, and I didn't check Sergio's website. Taking into account Roger's communication with Sergio, I definitely see how the matter got muddled.

Rest assured that when they finally do open in Louisville, I'll be there. I'll update the offline thread when more info is available.

Can't wait to have them just down the street from DCe. urban beer trail - NABC Bank St. DCE, BBC taproom, Sergios, then up to Bardstown Rd for Flanagans, Cumberland, Ray's monkey House & Zas.
That would be a hell of a bar hop. Whoooooooooooooooo

I hope they get the "bar"/bait shop next door as well. The old Sugar Doe/Ten Pin/Greek Paradise is kinda small. But I think it will be a great addition to the local beer scene and next to Vernon Lanes? Sounds like a nice night out to me.

That space isn't as small as you might think, Adam ... at least, not as Greek Paradise and Fusion used it: There's a fairly large back room in addition to the storefront that faces the street. In fact, that was part of the reason Greek Paradise failed there, I believe: They scaled up too far, too fast, and couldn't do a good job of serving a space that large.

I was able to stop by and see Sergio at the Shelbyville location last night. I have to say it was bit sad to see the beer paraphernalia coming down and being boxed up. What was even more disheartening was not being able to have any brew. It was kind of like being in a library where you werent allowed to read. Sergio was fairly tight lipped about the move, but I did glean a little info. From what I understand the plan is to be open for lunch at the new location and some limited dinner service(Im not totally clear on that) at the Shelbyville spot. This will allow him to bring some stuff over everyday and get set up while waiting for all paperwork to come together, which he indicated could take a fair amount of time. According to Sergio the menu wont change all that much, but there is talk of having a Mexican buffet for lunch.I am going to make an effort to get back over there to take some pics of the original location. For all of you who never made the effort to come and check out one of Louisvilles most unique restaurants,I feel sorry for you. You really missed out.
