Sunday Brunch!!

by David Clancy » Wed May 16, 2007 4:04 pm

Bistro New Albany is now open for Sunday brunch from 11:00AM-3:00PM every week. We are doing a "menu" brunch that features several omelettes, eggs any style, French toast etc, as well as a condensed version of our glamorous lunch menu and drink specials all day (so you can decompress after Church....). Hope everyone on the planet can join us!!-Dave

Wow. Awesome. Being one of the few churches in easy walking distance to you, this sounds great!

I took my mom there for brunch on Mother's Day because she and my step-father live in Floyd's Knobs. Everything was incredible. I ordered the grilled grouper with melon salsa and my mom had the crab cakes, both were specials of the day. The crab cakes tasted like they had a ritz cracker crust, which was delicious. The grouper was perfectly cooked and just what I wanted for a healthy lunch. I had a mimosa (blood orange if I'm not mistaken) that was only $2.50. The desserts were wonderful as well. My mom and step-father both had the berries and cream. We were worried it would be too sweet for their taste, but the whipped cream had just the right amount of sweetness. My chocolate mousse was very rich and yummy, but I could only eat a few bites. I was really impressed with the patio. It was very peaceful and pretty. Our server, Jamie (I think) was quite personable and efficient. We couldn't have asked for better service or food. I highly recommend the brunch at Bistro New Albany.

Oh...and I should mention, my mother is not an easy person to please when dining, and she LOVED it. They will definitely be back.

Good for you. Too few brunch spots are menu-based and I find most brunch buffets lacking. "Everyone on the planet" includes us on the dark side of the bridge --- right? :)

Oh...and I totally forgot to mention how kind Dave Clancy was when I e-mailed him for info on Mother's Day brunch. He responded promptly and was very helpful. Thanks Dave!

Dave, You saved me with this post! I was planning on serving brunch
at home this sunday because I was working on Mother's Day and so
haven't done the family thing yet. Coming to your place sounds like a much better idea and I get to relax and be waited on for a change.
See you Sunday.

Sunday Brunch

by Scott Schamel » Fri May 18, 2007 7:09 pm

Good Luck with the Sunday Brunch, Dave. We had a lot of interest in Sunday Brunch, but once we started, the "interested guests" didn't ever show up. It cost us more to open up than to stay closed on Sundays. Anyway, I wish you well and now I have a new place to try on Sunday... :D

Dave, Sunday brunch at your place was great. We also enjoyed the
patio and our server (Isaac?) was top notch. We had a pretty even
mix of breakfast and lunch items and eveyone in the group was happy,
even my dad, another one who is hard to please. I can't wait to come
back for diiner!
