The new Burger King Ad

by Steve P » Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:02 pm

Eh-Hem.... Comments anyone.

Note: Edited by me to remove the potentially offensive print ad. If you want to check it out, here's the Fox News link. (Steve P)

Ironically, one would probably have a better chances of receiving the implied "attention" if one skipped eating the sandwich itself on any sort of regular basis.

Has anyone seen the Hardee's television commercials with Padma Lakshmi. About the same in terms of what they are attempting so suggest.

Kinda makes me wonder what the ad for the Chicken Sandwich is going to look like.

I feel that is extremely crossing the line. I have two older daughters and it is so sad when they see commercials nowadays and ask, "what did that mean?" or just stare incredulously at the screen. As my 13 yr old put it, "I don't see why they have to use sex to sell food."

I find is humorous when people get upset about what is happening "these days".

BK is not doing anything new, or original, or even particaulrly funny, striking or more offensive than anything else out there.

Got Milk? (How about a white, suggestive smear of liquid across the upper lip of a beautiful woman?)

To be honest, I put this ad in the same category as Janet Jackson's infamous "Wardrobe Malfunction". This print ad will garner -exactly- the kind of attention it was created for...That is to draw draw attention to the brand. In a day or two someone will come along and claim innocent intent, apologize for any unintended "offense" and pull the ad amid all kinds of hoopla. In the meantime Burger King will have gotten EXACTLY what it paid for: Attention to their brand.

That reminds me of the PETA Super Bowl commercial that was banned. They got more "exposure" over being banned than they would have if it would have aired...... :D :D

Broccoli or pumpkin........that is the question?? This would have been better served if it was on after the 2am infomercial.

Disclaimer.....I have no use for PETA, except for this commercial!

Not much worse than the Hardee's(?) TV spot from a couple years ago, with Paris Hilton washing a car while eating a big...juicy...burger that was dripping and ooozing all over her...and that was shown in the US...
