Most Graeter's stores will give you a chunk (along with a scary fact sheet about not sticking your tongue on this stuff) to put in your cooler when you buy ice cream by the package on a hot day. Don't know whether they'd sell any in quantity, but if you only need a little, this might work ...

I've seen it for sale at Krogers, I'm pretty sure the one in Middletown carries it. They usually have a small chest freezer marked dry ice at the front of the store.

Nope...poor man's air conditioning. It's going to be 92 on Saturday during the contest. So what ya do is get a cooler and put a large chunk of dry ice in it and then you run an oscillating fan over the cooler. Regular ice will work in a pinch but the dry stuff works WAY better.

when i would be in mexico my aunt would have this HUGE fan and you would put a block of ice behind it, put it at the end of the hallway in her home. Her house was huge, but it cooled it off. i think it also had to do with the way the house was built. Most houses in Mexico have this wide long hallway with the rooms leading off, so i would think that helped.

Meijer stores have it in what looks like a small chest freezer, right next to the Customer Service area. I guess they have to keep an eye on it so kids don't mess with it.

The dry ice at Kroger is 99 cent a pound. I think it will take A LOT of ice to do any cooling, and it may not be that inexpensive.
