Diners, Drive In's and Dives

by Brian Curl » Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:30 pm

I know Guy from this show was in Louisville for Derby and was talking about trying to get info for spots that he might visit for his show. There was a tidbit in the CJ about it.

So, what are the best spots that would make good shows for D, D & D?

If we have good suggestions we can email them to the Food Network.

In no particular order:
Mike Linnings?
Wild Eggs?
Gennys Diner?
Cafe Lou Lou? Maybe not without Marsha!
Goose Creek Diner?
Wagner's Pharmacy?
Joe Huber's?
Lynn's Cafe?
We've got so many it's hard to determine which truly belong on the list. Everyone has their favorites and each one has something to say for itself. He could easily do several shows without leaving Louisville.

What is the name of the little cafe that is across from the New Albany Inn? It is also supposed to be haunted, which could add some character for a TV show.

Check's
Bambi
Ollie's Trolley
Twig & Leaf

Not sure exactly what they are shooting for.

Ok so where did Guy have his Derby Party and who does he owe? I hear it went until 3 am.

The CJ had it as a small mention in the Buzz column as Amici right after Derby - never saw a follow up.

GREAT nomination! Flabby's, Wagner's ... I might once have named Genny's, but I hear they've been on a bad slide lately. Granville Inn might work, too. How about Cottage Inn?

Are you talking about The Little Chef? It's a great little greasy spoon, but you have to possess quite a bit of fortitude to eat a whole chili cheeseburger there. Unfortunately, I think it's on hiatus at the moment.

Just wanted to say thanks for the Juanita's mention. My brother and I are the new owners (July 10th is the one year anniversary). If you haven't been in since we took it over you will be shocked.
