Our New Favorite Restaurant

by JD Barger » Thu Jun 18, 2009 5:08 pm

We have been dreaming of finding a place like this—cozy and fun. Lots of people share this dream, so you can expect to wait a while on weekends.

There's a reason Tony Boombozz is consistently rated the top pizzeria's in Louisville. Great for me, they're right in the neighborhood! We have enjoyed dinner at Boombozz several times the past few weeks, and while on occasion I will try one of their specialty pizzas, I am completely in love with their italian-style thin crust pizza's: The Nonna. The Nonna has a garlicky tomato sauce and topped with proscuitto, Italian sausage, red onion and fresh mozzarella cheese with a sprinkle of fresh basil and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. The combination of ingredients will make your taste-buds sing! We have tried several of their beers by purchasing beer flights which gives you a chance to sample each beer. We got a chance to speak with Tony who mentioned that they have a few new beers on tap coming (Bell's Oberon, Bell's Two Hearted Ale, Arrogant Bastard? and New Albanian) The wine list is a little small but very good and reasonably priced. We love coming to Boombozz, and will continue to do so because the food and atmosphere is truly amazing.

Those are great additions to the beer list, especially if New Albanian's Beak's Best ends up there.

JD,

Thank you for your kind words! I have posted your comments at the Highlands location and they are very proud. The Nonna, which is named after my grandmother (Nonna translates to grandma in italian) is becoming a favorite among our guests. We will keep you posted when the new beers come in and we look forward to serving you soon.

Best,
Tony
