Rehearsal Dinner Locations (150 guests)

by Chris Lindy » Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:14 am

Hi all, I'm back once again to seek the advice of my fellow Louisville foodies. The sister-in-law I mentioned a couple of months back had two locations (Captain's Quarters, Buckheads) fall through due to prior bookings finally drawing up contracts, so she is now trying to figure out where she can accomodate 150 guests for her rehearsal dinner. It's such a bigger party that any of the locations my wife & I considered just aren't going to work.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

Try Culbertson West in New Albany. It's ran by Steve Goodman and Carl Holiday and they have great events there. It's right on Main St. also so it is easy to get to from the interstate. phone is 812-989-8100

You may want to look in to Masterson's too. Their location on 3rd Street is pretty big. My sister & brother in law had an engagement party catered by them. The food & service was fantastic.

How about 300 Spring in Jeffersonville? It's a lovely historic facility right in downtown. They have several different catering services they work with and the size of your party wouldn't be an issue. We've been there for several events and always enjoyed it.

Here's their website: 300 Spring

I'd second Masterson's. They do catering full time, so they have it down pat. Rooms are lovely, parking at the door. Food is acceptable to very good. Nice people to work with too!

Seriously 150 people is a huge wedding party . . .

The event is on Sept. 4th. Captain's Q was our first choice but it was already booked that day.

How about Big Spring Country Club?...They do lots of events of your size and can easily accomodate your party. Ask if the Emerald Room is available on that date. Your contact person is Dudley Haines at 459-2622.

We can help them out at ParkPlace side of Brownings. Beautiful private facility w/ great service. Any price range is workable. Also, there isn't an additional charge for the space. Please call us 515-0174.

Hey Dan, you can do better than that now! I'm sure the Ballard cafeteria is available for the event. Think about it it could be a first, a wedding rehearsal dinner in a high school cafeteria! Well maybe a few student have eaten once their prior to getting married :D

Chris,
Some friends of mine had Anoosh to cater their son's rehearsal dinner at Parkplace on June 5th and the food and venue were both a hit!!!!! :D They had nothing but good things to say. They really liked the Sea Bass.
Good luck!

We did our rehearsal dinner at O'Shea's. Yes, it sounds interesting, but I am friends with one of the managers and she sold me on it. They ended up doing a great job. We had the whole upper level and the back deck and patio area, so we had a bar, a large outside area, and a good portion of the dining room to ourselves.

Of course, our dinner was subsantially less than 150 (maybe around 50), but they may be able to acommdate somehow with more use of the patio, etc. The food was very good, the price reasonable, and the service attentive and smooth.
