Summer Solstice Event this weekend at Hidden Hill

by Deb Hall » Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:32 pm

Got this one from Slow Food Bluegrass and it sounded like alot of fun:

Saturday, June 20, Summer Solstice Soiree, Hidden Hill Nursery, 1011 Utica-Charlestown Road, Utica, Indiana. Solstice Soiree with the Louisville Dulcimer Society, Huber Winery, Slow Food and lots of arts and fun. We'll begin at 5 p.m. with wine tasting offered by Huber Winery. We will have the Louisville Dulcimer Society performing some summer folk music, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Local chefs will prepare a Slow Food meal. Price is $15 and begins at 6 p.m. Louisville area artists lead by John McCarthy will be creating special ceramic fairies for our 15 foot tall "Fairies Wheel" - and other local artists will be on selling their wares. No reservations are required. NO ADMISSION CHARGE - We have some chairs but you might bring your own. http://www.hiddenhillnursery.com/

For those of you who haven't beemn to Hidden Hill, it's a wonderful, funky place, and Bob and his wife are great hosts-I highly recommend it!

To clarify, "Bob" of Hidden Hill is former Courier-Journal (and, back in the day, Louisville Times) columnist and garden expert Bob Hill. A great guy, as is his wife, and Hidden Hill is a beautiful place full of trees, plants and flowers.

...and art work! They have permanent garden sculptures and whimsical art installations all over the grounds ( which are incredible) and usually have a featured sculpture artist with a temporary show on the grounds. One of my favorite places in Louisville.
