Bristol Late Night

by Kim H » Mon Jun 15, 2009 3:10 pm

Well, some things came up Fri. evening, so we didn't make it out for Mediterranean. It was late, and we were still hungry, so we decided to head to Bristol on Bardstown for a late-night dinner. The Bristol isn't my favorite place for a unique culinary experience, but it's a great stand-by, especially at 11:30 pm. And it still has a lot of dishes that we enjoy, and we love the courtyard/patio at the Bardstown location.

There were a few people inside and out when we arrived, but it seemed to be a thinning crowd. We had the obligatory Green Chili Wontons and Artichoke Fritters to start, which we love. My husband ordered the classic Pork Dijonnaise, and I just ordered the Black Bean Chili, both were very good. Our server, Will Harman, was wonderful, especially considering the late hour. I admit to being a bit of a high maintenance diner (I like certain things on the side, extra dipping sauce, etc.), and he was extremely accommodating, and very pleasant for our entire visit. He recommended a nice bottle of Coppola Pinot Grigio, which we both enjoyed. It seemed a little late for an entire bottle, but with the carry-out law, it financially made more sense. We were the last table on the patio at 1:30, and we still felt welcomed by Will. I was really pleased with his service, and wanted to give him a shout out.

We hit the Bristol out in Prospect from time to time. It's an old stand-by for sure. It's been quite a few years since I dined at the old Bristol on Bardstown Road. When I lived within walking distance we definately put in a few late nights!
