This sounds like fun. Learned about this morning at the Beargrass F.M. I was hoping the website would offer more info on what chefs were competing, who was serving, etc., but it's just a little blip:

"It's Summer - Go Slow!
Slow Food Bluegrass/Locust Grove Family Picnic
June 14, 12 noon-4:30 pm
Celebrate food, family, and the land at Locust Grove. Craft demonstrations, freshly prepared food, local farmers, children's games, live music and an "Iron Chef"-style Cooking Contest. $5 car; walkers & bikers free; admission to the house included. Bring your own picnic, or purchase local foods here. "

I went last year and it was a lot of fun. Jay Denham did a meat curing demonstration and there were lots of plants for sale. I'm planning on going this year as well.

I'm on my way with the family! It's decadent for me not to be at work on a Sunday, but I've been looking forward to this for a while!
