My wife and I ate there a couple weeks ago. I wasnt really sure what to expect since it says Mexican restaurant and American Steakhouse, but once inside it was clear that it was basically El Nopal lite. One of the managers is even from El Nopal.

Our opinion was that is was just ok. The queso (white) was merely warm and therefore too thick, and our food took a long time to get out. My chimichanga was ok,and my wife thought her quesadilla was missing something. Its nothing to write home about...somewhere between El Nopal and Puerto Vallarta.

I ate their once. There are better options around here. The service was slow and not attentive at all. The food was okay, nothing great, nothing awful. I wouldn't necessarily avoid it but it's not a place I feel a need to visit again.

Isn't this the place that is owned by the woman who used to own the Los Indios in highlander point? I felt the food continued on from Los Indios and lacked in flavor and service wasn't all that memorable. Then again i'm slightly critical on mexican/tex mex being that i lived in arizona for 10 years and you could buy authentic food from someone in a safeway parking lot.

They have great tortilla soup and I am a fan of their carnitas. It's close to my house and doesn't require me to travel "down the hill" so I find myself here often. Other dishes aren't as good, imo. I wish more places would open "on top the hill" because man, I hate that damn hill.
