An open letter to ice cream companies...

by Scott Hack » Tue Jun 02, 2009 11:01 pm

I don't care how bold you make the print on the side of the container. A pint of ice cream isn't 4 servings. It is ONE! Thank you, that is all.

Could agree more!

Of course they also think a 1/2 gallon of ice cream doesnt have to contain 2 quarts. They keep making half gallons smaller!

Scott ... you and I are on the same page!

And Half-Gallon ice cream has become 1.5 Quarts. The price, however, continues to rise.

It's one serving unless it's Ben & Jerry's Phish Food, Scott, in which case it's "I'm sure glad we only bought one."

By the way, I almost had a new favorite ice cream flavor in the form of Häagen-Dazs crème brulée. Fortunately, I can no longer find it locally. I say fortunately because that means we won't have to widen our doorways. Yet.
