Private/Party Rooms

by Scott Hack » Tue Jun 02, 2009 3:19 pm

I know this question comes up occasionally for weddings...

I'm looking for a place that has a room for about 15-20 people. I'm not looking to rent the room. I'm hoping that the location will see the benefit of having the class there and hopefully drawing in another dozen or so people that might not have made it there on a slow summer Tuesday night.

I've previously done my classes/seminars in Pewee Valley. I'm looking for something closer into town to see if I can attract a different group of people. Anyone have some suggestions on places that may be willing to work with me?

Scott, you might check Avalon and Asiatique. I think Avalon has a private room and the upstairs area, and Asiatique has the chef's room (or something like that), that could easily fit 15-20. I doubt there would be a charge for either. I know we got into the chef's room at Asiatique when we showed up with a big group a while back--maybe check with Anderson, who posts here at times. He kindly set us up in there.

Scott,
I don't know what kind of class it is or what kind of food you are looking for but Molly Malone's on Baxter has a side room that would fit your crowd. I wouldn't call the food anything special but I know they will let you have the side room at no charge. Again, I don't know what you are looking for but I think that would be an intersting twist on the standard options.

I believe Jarfi's (Old Lentini's Building  ) has a couple of rooms that size.

I'm not sure how big their upstairs room is, but you might try Quill's as well. I have been there in the mornings getting coffee and know that folks routinely reserve their upstairs for meetings and classes. I don't THINK there is a charge for it - you just need to get it on their calendar.

Bearno's on Bardstown has an upstairs room. Ray's Monkey House (Nimbus' place) has a back room that's pretty private. Za's has a back room, although it is somewhat dingy and the location of the pool tables, etc.

Thought I had more ideas when I went to respond. That's all I have right now.

60 West Bistro & Martini Bar has a front room that is very private and we can fit up to 50 comfortably, so 15 - 20 people wouldn't be a problem at all! There is no additional charge for the room, and we can set you up with a limited menu or the regular menu, whichever fits your event. Our manager's name is Elliot Bottomley and he is in every day around 4 except Sunday and Monday. Give him a call at 719-9717 and he will be happy to work with you! Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks!!

We would love to have you at Brownings-- Great private room, and if you are looking to do something different-- We have had several different sales people invite folks when there is a game, and will give them a ticket as well as light food. Seems to work very well at getting people to come to listen.
Please call me 905-7724 or Amy 515-0172. Thanks!

The NOrth End Cafe is always a good location, close to the xways. It is also tapas tuesdays so all appetizers are half off. There is a server fee and a small room fee, but they may be able to work something out with you if you use it regularly

Yeah, we always open up our Red Room to groups/community meetings/etc. It can hold 12 comfortably, 20 not as comfortably. But people can spill out (large archway and no doors), and we definitely have the chairs. And it is totally free. We just ask that you buy your drinks here....I think I've seen 25 people in a meeting (that was too many).

You might want to try Annette at Le Gallo Rosso. She's always very accommodating with large groups! Plus, her Gorgonzola Fettuccine is the best! I used to work there but have since moved on and I still crave that stuff almost weekly!
