Amici, KY BBQ, & Brownings

by Ellen P » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:34 pm

Friday we ate at Amici before UL baseball. Sat at the table by the fountain, outside, up above the sidewalk. What a great special table. Didn't try the entrees this time, but had portabello appetizer, salad, and pizza. Pizzas are so different everywhere, but the toppings were diced very small, but for a small thin crus pizza, it was alright. Nice service.
Sat., before baseball, craving BBQ,went to KY BBQ - again. Shared basket of sweet potato fries, fried green tomatoes, and platter with 1/2 rack of ribs, pulled pork, red potato salad, and slaw. (We carry a cooler with us and took 1/3 with us.) Sat outside. Their bbq and sides are exactly what we think of when we want bbq. Even their green beans were southern and long cooked the way I like them - that was a true test.
(Nice al fresco dining guide in Leo.)
After the game Sat., we pulled up to Brownings at 10:00, but it looked almost closed. One table outside. Maybe 1 person at the bar. We didn't want to delay their leaving - we were going to have beer only - but went on home.
