CJ: 4 stars for L & N Wine Bar

by Robin Garr » Sat May 30, 2009 8:39 am

A well-deserved rating for a longtime favorite. As I recall, the last time Marty visited, he gave a review that sounded like 4 stars but didn't come through with the rating. It's good to see the review match the stars this time around.

I think it's safe to say that L & N qualifies as an institution, irrespective of stars awarded. It remains my preferred busman's holiday, a place I can go and let someone recommend wines to me and not be a beer guy for a while. Congrats to the cast and crew.

Congrats to Len, Nancy, Chef Rick and the entire L&N crew. It has been a long time coming. Cheers guys on a very well-deserved honor.

Thanks everyone for your very kind words. It's truly the culmination of a lot of amazing people that we've had working with us, both past and present (especially you Marsha, not so much you Scott :D ). Although we are very appreciative of Marty's kindness, we will always remember Robin's steadfast support of our place from the day we opened (including helpful advice prior to opening). Nancy and I raise a glass to all of you!

Ah....such great news! We LOVE LOVE the place and I hope this review inspires people to try it or revisit it. However, I wish they hadn't dropped opentable. We chose 2 other establishments after not being able to book them via this system. Still, we will remain loyal customers. Enjoy your stars, you deserve it!

I love this restaurant! A beautiful, well stocked bar, a well executed menu, and ambiance out the wazoo!
They deserve all the accolades they get.

Anyone know offhand how late L&N stays open on Saturday nights? I have family in this weekend, and we have early dinner plans elsewhere, then a short birthday party to do, but then were thinking of leaving my niece and nephew and going somewhere for adult beverages, preferably at a more "grown up" spot. The party is in L&N's area. I wonder if we could pop in around 10 for some drinks (and maybe fondue). . .

Thanks Len, that's great news. We'll stop in, hopefully by 10. If you're still around then, we'll be the group of 8 or 9--please say hello if you're around.

Congrats Len, Nancy, Rick and the great supporting staff.

Fab food, fine & freshest wine selection plus a Pimm's Cup...tall, cold & second to none. :D
