Justin, I quoted the complete news release. To me, "tapas" means "tapas." You might want to check with North End before going, though, if it's important to you. And if the sale is more limited than the news release suggests, of course we would want to know about that ...

I cannot speak for Christopher and his current promotion at North End, but during my brief stint as Chef de Cuisine there, we did Tapas Tuesday, which were a selection of $5 tapas on, go figure, Tuesdays. These were occasionally items from the menu, but more commonly a selection of 8-10 items that were created by the kitchen staff that afternoon. It was a lot of fun, kind of our own Top Chef quickfire challenge every week.

Let us know how it is - haven't been back to North End in better than a year, but this may draw me there!

We had to end up canceling our reservation last night. :( On the way there my boyfriend got called back into work for an "emergency" (not really an emergency at all, some of the people he works with are just ridiculously incompetent and take advantage of the fact that we live just 5 minutes from his office!) He got home 1o minutes to late for us to make it before 7pm for the half price tapas. I think we'll try again on Tuesday!

I assume so, but again, what I posted is the entire content of the EMail North End sent to me. If there's any question and you want to avoid disappointment, it never hurts to call. And post what you learn. :)

I spoke to a John at North End, he says it is the Tapas off the regular menu.

They are 1/2 off all day on Tuesdays

We were there at 6:30 last night and nobody mentioned half priced tapas! Anyway, the menu listed above is only half correct. There were no mussels (boo hoo) and there were a couple of different shrimp tapas. In fact, there were quite a few more than listed above and it was terribly hard to make a decision! Service was outstanding and I love the windows looking out the sides...really opens it up.

We had 1) Mushroom Quesadillas- these were delicious; must have been the cheddar that made them SO tasty, but i could have 2 orders of these and nothing else.

2) Scallops- 2 plump perfectly prepared scallops with a dribble of cream and avocado slices and a corn relish. Very tasty.
3) Seared tuna- sesame coated with a wasabi sauce, absolutely delicious. I'm gald that it was freshly prepared and served, not refrigerated.
4) Vegetable spring rolls- IMO they could have used perhaps a little shredded carrot and cilantro for taste, but they were crunchy and healthy with a good peanut dip and a good alternative to a salad. i liked them.
5) Calamari- the only disappointment. These were rings only in a bland coating with no flavor or spice and a small container of marinara. They tasted like the frozen variety from the grocery. We only ate a few. I used the lemon from my water to give them some pep.

Anyway, we'll definitely come back. It's a great concept. We eat here often for lunch and breakfast and have always loved it.
