On the other hand......

We went to Buenos Dias Cafe this morning.... I guess after last night, I just wanted some comfort and being around people i can really relate to.

The server was a very nice, and very pregnant :D (she is due June 4th), nice young lady. She came over and talked to my two babies. I asked her about the breakfast Hondureno, she took our drink orders and I told her we needed a couple minutes. After she brought my mother her coffee and my Diet Coke I told her we weren't ready. She could see i was having trouble keeping my 2 yr. old entertained. She turned on Nick which has Sponge Bob on and she brought him some crayons. We were able to order our food. My mother and i both had the breakfast Hondureno with carne asada. I asked about adding extra eggs for my 2 yr old and they said fine, only 25 cents for each extra egg!!! wow!

There was a bit of a wait, but there was only one person in the kitchen and....personally i saw the wait as a good thing; everying was going to be very fresh. When it all came out it looked sooooo good. Eggs made just as I ordered, very very hard fried, the refried beans were creamy and yummy. The carne asada was perfect, nicely chopped up and piping hot, how it should be. There were also two thick slabs of queso fresco on there, along with a nice big wedge of avocado, which was perfectly ripe! Nice salsa verde that had good heat, could have been hotter for me, but it was still an enjoyable heat. The best surprise were the fried platanos, two nice big pieces as well. My mom and i enjoyed those thoroughly. I personally left a piece of cheese and my platanos to enjoy at the very end.

My only slight dissatisfaction, i don't think the tortillas were fresh. But with everything else being so great it was marginal really.

Fifteen bucks for both of our breakfasts, coffee, my diet coke, and a tip everything came right under $20 bucks.

I love Buenos Dias Cafe! Family-run and friendly, and that really neat mix of Mexico, Puerto Rico and Honduras. I hope they live long and prosper.
