Since this is a straight news release, I'll assume general publication rights and post it here so folks can get the details without a click. Chefs note: It requires Kentucky farm-raised seafood.

The fourth annual Great Kentucky Seafood Cook Off will be held June 8 at Louisville’s Jefferson Community & Technical College.

The event is coordinated by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

It is sponsored by the Kentucky Aquaculture Association, Kentucky State University and Jefferson Community & Technical College.

Professional chefs interested in participating need to submit two recipes to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture by June 1.

The recipes must call for Kentucky farm-raised seafood ingredients.

Chefs will receive one pound of product to prepare the recipe in the competition.

An independent panel of judges will evaluate the dishes based on taste, execution of skills and presentation and ease of preparation.

The winner will represent Kentucky in the Great American Seafood Cook Off, which will be held in New Orleans in July.

Cost to participate is a $100. For information, contact Angela Caporelli at (502) 564-4983 or via e-mail, angela.caporelli@ky.gov.
