lunch at Basa

by Leah A » Tue May 19, 2009 10:08 am

I had the pleasure of trying Basa's lunch menu recently and was very impressed. I had the Banh Mi which was very tasty. It came with a drizzle of truffle oil which was a very nice surprise. This was my first experience with Banh Mi and am curious how this compares to other Vietnamese restaurants in town. We have been meaning to go to the Vietnamese Kitchen for quite some time.

The sorbet for dessert was also wonderful. We tried the tamarind sriracha and were very pleased. A definite must try if you are a fan of the hot sauce. The sweetness and tart from the tamaraind hits you first and then the heat kicks in. Had a similar type of flavor pairing at Corbett's last year with a passion fruit creme brulee which came with a side of passion fruit juice infused with chilis. They have a nice selection of teas as well.
