Don't forget that Brownings is open again

by Ellen P » Sun May 17, 2009 6:07 pm

It was a positive experience at the bar. After the UL baseball game Friday night. Good beer, good food, good bar person. Similar menu to the last time we were in there before it closed. I don't know that it had the beer cheese with pretzels appetizer. May have overlooked it to have some thing different. We shared a fried grouper sandwich also. Looking forward to going back.

(A group from lunch ate at Bank Street Friday. They were impressed. Alittle surprised at the prices and short list of menu offerings but thought everything was nicely done. Bill Francis from WDRB came in and interviewed David Pierce while we were there. Don't know if that was Friday night or to be shown at a later date.)

We ate there Saturday. We only had the crab cakes and boneless buffalo wings, which were both good. The entree prices are very reasonable, which is why I suspect there was no beef/steak on the menu. Since I'm not a beer drinker, the only wine option was Fetzer. The menu stated to ask for the wine list for other options. We did ask and were told that there is no list. Perhaps, maybe in the future?

Thanks for coming in! We are still working out some opening kinks ( like the other wines that are available), and fine tuning the menu. We appreciate the support, and look forward to serving great food & beer. Also, Browning's Beer is now available in 3 locations in the stadium on tap! :D

Paula, for those of us who attend ball games regularly, can you please tell us more exactly where the Browning's taps are?

I know we would also just love to hear the backstory about how Budweiser was persuaded to relax their monopoly on stadium beer sales ...

Yes we would...

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.
