Shout to Kevin from Avalon

by Charles W. » Mon May 11, 2009 9:11 pm

A week ago Friday I was riding my bike alone on my normal Cherokee/Seneca route, returning on the brick alley/street that is the extension of Cherokee Parkway across Bardstown Rd. Even though I've done this identical route 150 times, there was a section I'd never noticed where there was a brick edge about an inch high--I drifted across it and it took my wheel out. I crashed hard.

Kevin from Avalon saw me laid out and was very kind to me as I waited for my wife. Turns out my elbow was broken pretty bad: I have a all kinds of metal parts in there now.

It probably wasn't the best thing for Avalon, but Kevin's actions were very kind to me. Thanks so much.

Before and after x-rays--not for the squeamish

I hope your elbow can be repaired and that you are feeling better.

I rarely look at an X-ray and am able to tell what's not right. In that before X-ray, though, it's pretty darn obvious. Ouchers.

From one cyclist to another, wishes for a speedy recovery. Keep the rubber side down next time!
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
