Son of a Sailor

by NDDuncan » Fri May 08, 2009 10:29 pm

I went up for the 1st night of "shag" lessons last night (Thursday). Had a beer and
a calamari (Yuuummmmy!) waiting for the instructor. It was a lot of fun!
I'm going back next week (Thursdays 7:15-8:15 pm) to learn more - it's such a
fun dance!

I really hope this takes off - what fun to spend summer nights dancing to beach music,
enjoying a good fish sandwich and a cold beer, or just watching people that really
know how to do the shag!!

Reminds me of my younger years, my parents rented the same house every summer
on Crescent Beach, S.C. Son of a Sailor has the food, the atmoshpere, everything about those
beach clubs that I still love :)

So where is the dancing? Inside? I didn't remember the dining room being all that big. Or are they utilizing part of the parking lot? It does sound like fun!

Carla,

Sorry I'm so late with a response! They have turned the other side (with the tiki bar) into the beach club, and yes, when it's nice there will definitely be dancing by the picnic tables! I can't go back tonight because my daughter's team has last-minute-scheduled volleyball scrimage, but we'll be there next week. I've been practicing what I learned - even when I'm in the car sitting at lights and hear a song with the right beat :)
