Monday Dinner Downtown

by Bonnie E. » Thu May 07, 2009 8:52 pm

Once again requesting dining advice. My sis will be in town for one night only and I want to take her out for dinner. She is staying on 2nd street and has limited time (back for a 9pm meeting) so I need to keep her in the downtown area.

Can anyone suggest ideas for dinner? I know Monday is often a closed day for alot of resturants. According to their websites Z's Fusion and Proof are open. I also think Primo is. Thanks in advance for any help.

When I first started reading your post I immediately thought of Proof that I read that it is open on Monday was confirmed that as my choice. A wonderful casual atmosphere, a good bar and great interesting food would make for an enjoyable dinner!

Alas, Primo is gone. <sob!>

But either Proof or Z's Fusion would make a great choice, assuming they are in fact open on Mondays.

Thanks. Guess we won't go to Primo! Looks like Z's Fusion or Proof. Both look great. Thanks Again.

I would also add Rivue as an option. Being in the hotel, I'm assuming it's open Mondays.

Oddly enough, Rivue is not open on Mondays. I thought that might be nice to show off a bit of Louisville's view. (Or maybe Southern Indiana's more accurately) She lives near St. Louis and I am always telling her that "my Louisville" is sooo much better than "her St. Louis". (THE Hill is an exception)

I forgot about the Mayan Cafe, I'll check there too. Thanks again for the suggestions.

That is curious. I'm guessing the hotel doesn't get a lot of business on Mondays, but still. . .

Good luck with the St. Louis vs. Louisville. I lived in STL for 3+ years, and loved it. I love Louisville too. There are a lot of similarities (Highlands vs. Central West End, Crescent Hill into St. Matthews vs. U-City), and St. Louis has a wonderful, passionate dining scene. It also, in my opinion, has a better skyline. . .
