Restaurant rec

by Danielle D » Thu May 07, 2009 10:17 am

I'm going to be in L'ville this weekend and am excited that we'll have the opportunity to dine at one of your seemingly thousands of local restaurants! I was hoping you guys could make some suggestions though for a) one that I maybe haven't tried (more on that in a minute) and b) one that would be somewhat child-friendly for a well behaved 2-year old. Okay so some of the places we've tried that we like/love are: Corbett's, Equus, Seviche, Asiatique, Mojito (actually considering this one for this trip). Most of those are probably not appropriate for a young child though. I looked at Basa's menu because I've heard rave reviews but I couldn't decide whether it was 2-year old worthy. We don't have to have a kids menu, so that's not a factor. Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading your rec's.

Havana Rumba would be a good choice......Kids seem to love it as much as Adults

I second Will's request to host your group, he is a gracious host and his menu has a little something for everyone.

Lynn's Paradise Cafe

I don't know of any other place in Louisville that a child would enjoy more.

Thank you all for the ideas. We've done Lynn's and we prefer it for breakfast. You're totally right though, he was mesmerized the entire meal! We've also done Havana Rumba and I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong thing or what, but we prefer Mojito. I'll have to check out the menu at Westport and Cafe Lou Lou. Thanks again and keep 'em coming!

I second Cafe Lou Lou...we have a 2 year old and they made him "cheesy noodles" which werent on the menu...Marsha also alerted me that they can make kids a grilled cheese or pita pizza (which our lil guy will LOVE next time we are there.

Now that the kids are taken care of, it took but one trip to make Cafe Lou Lou one of our faves. :D

I'll also say Cafe Lou Lou, great food for people of any age and any preference as well as a very comfortable atmosphere! Lynn's is an interesting place but in my opinion the only meal they do well is breakfast.

Basa was very tasty, but I shiver at the thought of my 2yr old in there. It's to close and dim for kids.
