Perfetto Pizza on Linn Station

by Michele Cull » Wed May 06, 2009 8:11 am

Perfetto Pizza has opened in the former New York Pizza (and Fat Tony's Pizza) on Linn Station Rd. No details yet, but there is a "Now Open" sign out front.

I thought Slice of NY had very good NYC-style pizza and very strange service, but I'm a happy boy to see another pizzeria go in there and agree with Neal that I'm ready to give them a shot.

I'm on my way there.

Perfetto Pizzeria
9910 Linn Station Road
502-426-4644

Mon-Thur 11:00 - 9:00
Fri 11:00 - 10:00
Sat 4:00 - 10:00

I had a brief conversation with the owner, they were pretty busy. He and his wife run the joint and are transplants from Wisconsin. They are super nice and hard working people. Hopefully they can make this place a success. They are in the process of building a website and I told him about Hotbytes.

Their daughter owns Divinity Fine Catering on Franfort Ave.

Ok. Standard pizzeria fare. Pizza's are either thin and crunchy or NY Style.

$11.00 - 12" $.75 per topping
$12.75 - 16" $1.00 per topping
$15.00 - 20" $1.25 per topping

By the slice
$2.89 $.25 per topping
11:00 - 2:00 daily

Salads, bread sticks, garlic bread, pasta salad, tomato salad, and italian potato salad
$2.59-$3.49

Sandwiches: Italian Sausage, Meatball, Beef, Ham, and Turkey
$5.95

Bottled beer: Bud, Mich Ultra, Coors, MGD, Bud Lime, Corona and Heineken - $?

We had a 12" NY stlye pizza and the pasta salad.

The pasta salad was a tad under seasoned, but with a little S&P it was pretty good.

The pizza was not quite NY Style by my standards. It was a little to thick and not crispy enough. I think with a little time and work this place could be great.

When you stop in make sure you chat up the owners. As I said, they are really nice and deserve a warm welcome to our city.

Looks great! And I think Divinity also has a pretty solid reputation.

Looks like they might need a beer intervention, though.

Went by there for lunch yesterday and had a slice (or two). I thought it was very good. Have any of the New Yawk natives tested it yet for authenticity? I'm just wondering how Perfetto's pizza stacks up against the "real thing."

Stopped in for lunch today. Enjoyed my pepperoni slice, as well as my sausage slice. They seemed to be doing pretty well at lunch time today. The ownership is definitely hands on, and you can tell. I wish them nothing but success.

We had it over the weekend, and LOVED it.

As someone mentioned, it may be a TAD thicker than classic NYC style but not much; Stil easitly foldable for me..........but taste-wise, I found it to be pretty dead on.

It's complete with that 'orange' oil dripping that NYC pizza always seems to have, too. :)

I found it to be VERY close in taste to the old Hero's. This place is definitely in my 'pizza rotation' going forward.

We had a giant 20 inch cheese pizza there last night. For 4 people to eat for under $22, great value. Glad to say we didn't eat it all in one sitting, and got to enjoy it today as well. Definitely 2 thumbs up. The new owners are very nice, and make a great pie. I like the interior changes of the colors & table cloths. Look forward to eating there often. They don't deliver yet, may in the future.

Stopped in today again and grabbed a couple of slices.

Curious if anyone knows how they are getting around having to have a public restroom?

They have a restroom for customers. I've used it. I think the sign is just to discourage non-customers from using it. However, I did see one non-customer come in solely to use the restroom, and was allowed to do so. No hassle. I'm guessing they're OK, restroom-wise.

Excellent trip to Perfetto's tonight. My husband declared the thin crust his, new "favorite" pizza in Louisville.

It's a minor (but important) detail...I LOVE the big chunks of sausage! Hallelujah!

I was happy to see them nearly full around 6:00 pm on a Wednesday. They were also preparing for a large Birthday party later.

We will be back soon. :D
