Vietnamese row in Clifton? Zen Garden plans tea garden

by Robin Garr » Wed May 09, 2007 1:29 pm

Now, following the arrival of Basa next door to Zen Garden, comes news that Zen Garden is planning to purchase and renovate the building just east of Basa and reopen it as an "tea garden," creating a strip of three fine, different-styled Southeast Asian spots in a row on this block in Clifton.

My bride went to Zen for lunch today and got this directly from owner "Coco" Tran, who says she plans a very serious tea service there, along with an upscale, all-organic bill of fare made entirely from local/regional produce. I assume it will, like Zen Garden, be all vegetarian.

That's fantastic news! My recent first trip to Zen Garden was lovely, despite some rather ... leisurely service, and I've been eager to try Basa.

Now a tea garden?! That sounds like a spot I can't wait to support with my dining (and sipping) dollars.
